Race Report

First the good news! Sad Barry rocks the Hooligan class!

Second place, and a great big trophy! Congrats Barry!

Check out the Hooligan action:

I didn't fare so well in the vintage class. Those guys were pretty good riders, and my bike was a bit slow, and had some real bad handling issues. These will be worked out by next race (I hope!). Not much I can do about those guys being better than me (yet!).

SO FUN! Can't wait for the next race May 7th.

Here's the wild, bucking ride:

New Tank Update

Shawn doesn't seem too sleep very much. This guy is fast.

Tail-Seat Frame Building

Bent some 3/16" x 1 1/4" stock into a hoop to support the tail/seat. Plan to drill and bolt it to the tire side of the upper shock mounts. Why not, they are already tapped?

The South end of a North bound chicken...and some free advert for Steve Storz.

Stop side line: Tank end looks a little low. Sledge hammer is keeping this pricey piece of glass from bouncing on the concrete.

Go side: yep, tank end is too low.

Focus you idiot. Might be time for a higher megapixel camera. Looks like it could stand to move towards the tank a couple of inches too.

The debut.

Well... tomorrow night caps 2 years of hard work (ok, maybe 10 practices in 2 years, 4 of 'em in the last 2 weeks). The Geniuses are unleashing the rock tomorrow night at the 3 Kings in Denver. 3 of the 59s, Kurt, Barry, and me, Gb, plus Rich from Boss 302 are gonna butcher some power pop classics. Wish us luck...

Yellow tank makes the rounds.

The yellow tank is taking a turn on my bike. The sale of fenders (and tank) on eBay left me needing a temporary fuel cell. Thanks to Garrett for the pit stop fast swap out last night.

New Pipes

Headers.

Headers and Muffler.

Which one do you like better? I have probably already made up my mind.

Fender Friday

Today the eBay fender replaced the stocker,...after some modification.

The "extra" parts of the fender and support.

Super Joe, supervising.

It's the same bike, really.

Sunday's Wrench

Up on the lift, ready to tear down the stock wheels and tires, whoo they are ugly.

Much better. The pipes sound great, but won't work with rear sets. That fender, tank and seat have got to go. Notice Garrett's bike in the background. That's the right stance. The "canned ham" air filter seems to get bigger ever photograph.

The stock kickstand was modified by the previous owner to work with the low shocks and small diameter rear wheel. That's why it's almost laying down. Gotta replace that too.

Thanks to Michelle for sending Garrett over to work Sunday afternoon.

New Shoes for Barry's Hardly

Found me a crazy good deal on the interweb for some left turn only wheels-hubs-spokes-tyres. All the way from West Virginia.

Newest Addition-Barrett's H-D 2000 1200 XL

Left and Rights on purchase day. Left and rights 4 days later after changing drag bars and risers for flat track bars, trading low shocks for stock, moving foward controls back to mid.

Open and Closed Primary Cover

Decided to pull the primary cover and examine the drive. The remaining sludge the consistency of a melted milky way is a little unnerving as is the salt and pepper sized metal flakes on the oil drain plug screen. Hopefully the flakes are only from the pistons that seized. I'll find out soon enough. The milky way...? Maybe the previous owner didn't actually garage it?
